The Process – 6 Simple Steps
I’d like to build my own home, where do I go from here?
Once you have a block of land in mind, contact us to arrange an appointment with Shawn to discuss your ideas. At the initial appointment he will discuss your preferences, consider house orientation on your block of land and associated energy efficiency matters, estimate the length of time your project will take and when it is likely to begin.
After your house plan has been selected and finalised we will provide you with a quote based on our builder’s range of inclusions.
If you are happy with the quote and would like to proceed we will arrange another appointment at which you will make your preliminary house selections.
You are now ready to sign a fixed price contract with us. This can be done at your selections appointment if you wish, or at another time. At this stage a deposit will be payable. Once we have received your deposit and payment of preliminary fees we will proceed with obtaining all necessary permits and approvals for your new home.
Now you can sit back and relax knowing that your new home is under construction with a qualified, experienced, reliable builder. If you have any questions about your project during this phase feel free to contact us. During this time we will invoice you for progress payments as outlined in your contract. Generally there are five or six stages at which we will invoice you.
This is the really exciting part. Your brand new home is now complete, ready for you to take possession of. Upon receipt of your final progress payment we will arrange an appointment for you to sign a Statement of Compliance, receive other documentation and best of all, your new keys.
